The Business Model Canvas: A Tool for Visionaries, Game Changers, and Challengers

This session will introduce and explain the Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Canvas tools.

These tools can be used to design, innovate, and renovate business models for startups, non-profits, corporations and enterprises to create value for not only the business, but for its customers and society as well.

These tools help to replace outdated models and help organizations keep up with the ever changing needs of their customers, members, and users.

Destin Ortego | Director | Opportunity Machine

Destin serves as Director for the Opportunity Machine, Lafayette, La’s center for entrepreneurs, where his mission is to grow business and entrepreneurship, create quality jobs, economic diversity, and regional prosperity.

Destin has worked with more than 80 startups and small businesses guiding them from idea stage to initial seed investment.

Destin earned his bachelor’s degree in visual arts, with a concentration in graphic design, and a master’s degree in public relations both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 

Destin’s passion for entrepreneurial and economic development drives his service as a board member for Academy of Information Technology, Academy of Interactive Entertainment Advisory Committee and Junior Achievement of Lafayette Parish.
