Want an inside look at the past, present, and future projects slated for downtown Baton Rouge? Join us June 17th as Mr. Davis Rhorer presents the Downtown Development District’s initiatives over the past 31 years that have catalyzed the recent surge of public and private investments; including 440 on Third, Water Campus, Watermark Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott and The Heron. He will highlight the accomplishments resulting from the recommendations of Downtown’s community-driven master plans; Plan Baton Rouge, Plan Baton Rouge II, the River District Master Plan, and Future BR. These plans and the support from community leaders have enabled Downtown Baton Rouge to develop into a vibrant place to live, work, and play.

Mr. Davis Rhorer
As Executive Director of the Downtown Development District (DDD), Davis Rhorer is responsible for carrying out the mission of the DDD to initiate, incubate and support partnerships that develop and enhance Downtown Baton Rouge.
Since the DDD was established in 1987, Rhorer has served as the 1st and only executive director and is a prominent leader in the development of various plans and initiatives that have transformed the Downtown area. In this capacity, Rhorer has served on many boards, including the International Downtown Association, and has worked closely with the DDD Board of Directors, private sector partners, local government, non-profit and philanthropic organizations to revitalize Louisiana’s Capitol City - helping to attract more than $2.25 billion in investments. He is the leader in implementing downtown Baton Rouge’s current master plan – Plan Baton Rouge II.
Rhorer and the Downtown Development District have received ten awards from the International Downtown Association, recognizing their continued leadership role in the revitalization of Downtown Baton Rouge.
He is a 1979 graduate of the Robert F. Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University and currently serves on the Alumni Board.
