Adam is the President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, which he joined in 2008. BRAC leads economic development in the nine-parish Capital Area of Louisiana. BRAC’s team works to secure business investment and economic growth for the Capital region, while at the same time leading efforts to enhance the region’s competitiveness and improve the conditions for business investment.

Adam is married to Megan Johnson Knapp, a Virginia native, and they have three young children, Sadie, Hattie, and Nicholas. Adam is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, where his family still lives. He volunteers on the Boards for Arts Council, New Schools Baton Rouge, and Teach for America, and attends University Presbyterian Church.

Knapp completed his undergraduate degree at Davidson College in North Carolina about ten years too early to have met Stephan Curry. He started his career in the private sector, where he worked in in Chicago and Silicon Valley as a consultant for Accenture, a global consulting firm. After Accenture, Adam returned to Louisiana to serve Governors Mike Foster and Kathleen Blanco as Economic Development Advisor, worked for Louisiana Economic Development, and – after the 2005 hurricanes – as Deputy Director of the Louisiana Recovery Authority.
