Schedule risks are both threats to and opportunities for the success of a project. Threats tend to reduce the success of meeting the project goals, and opportunities tend to increase the success of meeting the project goals. Implementation of schedule risk management starts with early planning in both budgetary cost estimating and preliminary master scheduling in order to determine budgets and schedule with a with a comfortable level of confidence in the completion date and final costs. While there are entire volumes addressing risk in construction projects and cost-risk assessments, it is important to note that the issue of time-related risk has not been universally incorporated into planning. The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview of risk management and the assessment process, as well as best practices for incorporation of risk management into CPM schedule development and maintenance.

Jesse Guillory | Project Controls and Planning| Worley Engineering Group

Jesse L. Guillory currently works in Project Controls for Worley Engineering Group in Baton Rouge. His current project experience includes being the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Project Planner for clients such as Methanex, Shell, Phillips 66, Delek, USA and Syrah Technologies. Jesse a native of Eunice, received his BS in Construction Management from LSU and his MBA from Louisiana Tech University. He is currently pursing a PhD in Industrial Engineering at LSU. He has over 17 years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry.

He has spent last 10 years gaining engineering project experience by working in a project controls capacity through various Petrochemical projects and clients. In addition to his full-time career, Jesse also serves as an adjunct instructor at ITI College in Baton Rouge in the Construction Management Department where is currently teaches Planning and Scheduling.
