As Project Managers, we all know we are accountable for managing budgets, schedules, scopes, and a myriad of other knowledge areas as well as process groups. When managing very small, low-risk projects, it could be possible to deliver a successful project without the support of advanced techniques. However, at a certain point, it all becomes too much to successfully manage without implementing systematic approaches to collecting, analyzing, and reporting key project data and performance indicators. Earned value management (EVM) is one of those approaches, arguably the most impactful and robust.

In this session, we will steer away from the minutiae of the mathematics and graphical depictions of earned value analysis and focus on the overall concept, some real-world scenarios & applications, and the benefits and utility of this method of measuring & gauging a project’s performance and forecasting & managing it to a successful completion. PMI refers to EVM as “project management with the lights on” and during this presentation, we will “shed light” on why it is considered to be one of the most valuable Project Management tools/techniques.

Meeting begins at 5:30pm with networking and socializing.  Presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. PMI Credential Holders will be awarded 1.5 PDU's for attendance (Talent Triangle: .50 Leadership/50 Strategic/.50 Technical). Participants should adhere to latest government recommendations with regards to face coverings and social distancing.
